Sustainable Educational Program
ESARDEF prioritizes educational access and quality for vulnerable children. The organization supports both formal and informal education, providing resources such as school supplies, infrastructure improvements, and capacity-building programs. Their efforts are particularly focused on reaching children in remote forest communities, ensuring they have opportunities for learning and personal development.
Rural schools in Cameroon face severe challenges that are unique to their environment. A lack of parental interest in children’s (especially girls’) education, insufficient funding from the state, a lack of resources, underqualified teachers, and multi-grade teaching are some of the barriers to effective education. It is worth noting that literate, skilful, and educated people are a prerequisite for both preserving and developing the community and society as a whole. As such, our education programs like Literate Community Kids Program, Scholarships for the underprivileged, Textbook’s donations, Girls’ Literacy, Teachers’ training Classroom’s construction, School WASH Project, Gender Based Violence (GBV) etc., are all designed to address the above needs of rural, and low-income schools’ populations. Especially those at the forest communities in Cameroon.
